The Korea Office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung regularly offers internships to master degree students who want to experience the working environment of a political foundation. A study background in political science, sociology, economics or related areas of study has proven to be most advantageous. Any social engagement and interest in international cooperation is welcome.
The intern should have a very good command of both German and English. Office language is German.

  • Tasks and format of internship

Besides independent preparation and organization of conferences and visitor programs, participation in seminars and workshops, research and writing of texts and papers, assistance in daily office work; it is possible to identify an area of particular interest interns can focus on during their internship. The duration of the internship should be 3 months. This is an unpaid internship and FES cannot offer any compensation for any expenses during the stay due to federal German budget guidelines. You should be open-minded to the surrounding and the culture and be able to adapt to a certain degree.

Due to this broad range of tasks, as an intern you will learn about the functioning of a political foundation; the work of our partners and the activities of FES Korea. Also, interns get the opportunity to gain insight into the political system of Korea and will get a chance to deepen their own political understanding.

  • Allowances and honoraria

Interns must bear all costs (transport, including the flight to South Korea, board and lodging) themselves. we therefore strongly recommend that if necessary applicants seek funding in good time. There are several possibilities for funding.
